CADC Intern
Akhila is a CADC Intern who is completing her master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on addictions. She has completed her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Psychology with a minor in criminology. She has been working in various positions in the mental health field for about 4-5 years. Akhila’s previous clinical experience in the mental health field includes working in the ABA field as a clinician with children and adults on the spectrum from the ages of 3-19 years old. She has been in the addictions field for two years in various positions and has taken her knowledge and passion for mental health and helping others to grow as a clinician in the field. Akhila as a clinician is person-centered and primarily utilizes the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy orientation to motivate her clients to actively work on themselves in and out of the therapeutic setting. She believes that recovery is grounded in self-compassion through the downfalls, self-recovery as one gets back up and self-growth going back uphill.
